Biography

I am a highly organised and enthusiastic Head of New Media with over eight years industry experience having worked both freelance and for media agencies across the UK. I have successfully completed dozens of projects for clients such as Google, The BBC, NHS, The Co-operative, HSBC, Umbro, ITV, and Total Oil.

I started my career in the music industry, working particularly in music and sound for film and culminating in the creation of “Nightlight Productions”; a collective of creative media freelancers working across the UK. It was this exposure to the film industry that helped me gain knowledge in filming techniques and postproduction / motion graphics, producing title sequences, idents and stings for the films I was composing for.

My recent experience lies in graphic and web design, using my comprehensive knowledge of XHTML and CSS and implementing AJAX / JavaScript and Flash when needed to create innovative and engaging websites and digital graphics. Over the past five years I have completed over 25 web projects from full-blown content managed websites for national associations to marketing campaigns and online design for private companies across the UK. Once a project is complete my knowledge of digital marketing, SEO / PPC and social networking help make sure the project meets the clients expectations.

I have extensive transferrable skills across the entire Adobe CS4 Master Suite yet I am always eager to learn new techniques from subscriptions of media blogs and literature and also from the colleagues I work with. I am very thorough in project management and organisation, I take criticism constructively and have the vision to take a brief from concept through to end product.

In my spare time I enjoy playing weekly football, the odd game of squash and I occasionally play with local bands as well as keeping myself busy with several side projects that I’ll get round to finishing one day...
